![]() The I-Drive complex has been quite busy with our recent new attraction news. The cost for such a high thrills ride will be a mere $20 for an unlimited day pass. The eight-passenger vehicle will have lap restraints instead of over the shoulder harnesses so as not to obstruct the view ( Orlando Sentinel). It is expected to accommodate approximately 1000 riders per hour. The ride will be just about 4 minutes of fun (or sheer terror)! The rollercoaster will zoom along at speeds of 65 mph. It will also potentially have two beyond-vertical drops including the steepest drop in the world at 123 degrees and have the highest inversion in the world ( Theme Park Review). most notably making this the highest coaster in the WORLD- before plunging 50 stories. This rollercoaster would twist, barrel roll, and tumble inside and along the side of the giant stratosphere reaching heights of over 550 ft. The Skyscraper is set to break a few world records when it potentially opens in 2017. The New I-Drive Skyscraper Roller Coaster Michael Kitchen, President of US Thrill Rides, confidently states: “It is an absolute cutting-edge engineering marvel that will deliver pure adrenaline unlike any roller coaster in the world today”. SeaWorld Orlando’s coaster will be eclipsed the following year by the vertical coaster known as the Skyscraper, which is currently under construction at the I-Drive Skyplex. More notably for adventure seekers, this will be Orlando’s TALLEST coaster at 200ft (it will surpass Universal’s Rip Ride Rockit at 167ft), FASTEST coaster (it will surpass the 67mph of Universal’s Incredible Hulk) and LONGEST coaster (it will surpass the 2 minutes and 50 seconds of Disney’s Expedition Everest).Īs exciting as SeaWorld’s tallest coaster is for scream-seekers, this distinction won’t last long. SeaWorld’s veiled coaster is projected to open in 2016 and will join SeaWorld Orlando’s other two thrilling roller coasters the Kraken and the Manta.
